Jodie Wassner is an educational and developmental psychologist with over 20 years experience counselling young people and their families. She divides her professional time equally between clinic work with young people and educational training for psychologists and other health professionals, including supervision for psychologists and provisional psychologists.

In addition to supervision and workshops, Jodie runs a successful private practice in Sydney where she works predominantly with ASD, anxiety and ADHD. Her two professional passions are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a strong compassion approach, and autism spectrum conditions. She has presented her work internationally and has successfully helped dozens of families in her clinic to navigate the challenges of ASD. Jodie has co-written a ten-session ACT manual for therapists working with anxious children.

Jodie has been actively implementing Acceptance Commitment Therapy into her work with young people for 15 years. She attended a CFT workshop by Dennis Tirch four years ago and has been passionately reading and utilising Compassion focused-techniques from therapists including Paul Gilbert, Dennis Tirch and Russell Kolts ever since. Jodie sees compassion as an essential variable in the therapy process for misunderstood kids, particularly those with ASD and ADHD.
