I am a clinical therapist, with a post-graduate Social Work degree, with 40 years’ clinical experience.  I have attended several CFT workshops alongside being a certified teacher in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC).

I provide compassion focused approaches with people in a variety of ways – through one-to-one counselling and group work.

I use Compassion-Focused approaches in one-to-one counselling which are available to you through face-to-face as well as through on-line sessions (a stable internet connection is required).    Compassion focused approaches are usually offered in combination with a gentle CBT approach but can also be provided in a more structured way for individuals by using readily available self-help style books. All counselling and assistance involve a person undertaking homework to experience and practice some level of relaxation and then mindfulness and meditation training, alongside other structured homework which progresses towards developing a more compassion self.

I am Medicare registered and people can be referred with a Mental health Care Plan through their GP and provide EAP (through D’Accord, Occupational Assistance Services).

I also provide training sessions on self-care (using a range of self-compassion techniques and approaches) for organizations which range from 1-hour educational sessions to full on-job-training with an 8 -week program.

These include the Introductory program, the 3-day personal practice workshop and CFT for people with Psychotic Voices. After attending a MSC five day intensive though USCD, I attended the very first ever Teacher Training for the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program in 2014, developed by psychologists Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. I followed this through to become a certified MSC teacher and regularly provide MSC groups. I am now developing my skills further though CFT training as it becomes available to me. I have regular peer supervision in regard to my group work.
