I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, as well as being an Associate Fellow, Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Scientist with the British Psychological Society. I am a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology, Division of Neuropsychology and Faculty of the Psychology of Older People (British Psychological Society).

I am also an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists and have further training in Compassion Focused Therapy (via the Compassionate Mind Foundation). Using this approach I help treat people suffering from anxiety, depression, bereavement, and difficulties with strong emotions. I have also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy (Richmond EMDR).

I have run a North Essex based Special Interest Group in Compassion Focused Therapy bi-monthly since Feb 2012 and concieved of and ran an NHS based conference on the Future of Compassion Care in September 2016. I lecture on Compassion Focused Therapy to the Clinical Psychology doctoral training course at the Univerity of Essex.

My research interests are varied and include compassion in a therapeutic context, post-traumatic stress disorder (and post-traumatic growth phenomena), psychological responses to trauma across the lifespan, sexual compulsivity, the therapeutic relationship, CBT for anxiety among people with dementia, audit and care planning.
