I am a Clinical Psychologist who offers both individual and group CFT for adults and I work with most types of psychological problems.
I have specialist skills and experience in using CFT to address the problems of both PTSD and Complex PTSD (which tends to occur where people have suffered multiple traumatic events and /or have had chronic difficulties as a result of experiencing physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect in their early lives).
Of course a related area is so-called ‘Borderline Personality Disorder’ and I have many years of working with people with these kinds of difficulties, especially where severe self-harm is also a feature.
I also have unique experience of working to support people within the context of a large-scale historical abuse investigation.
In recent years I have been particularly impressed with the power of ’The Compassionate Self’ to help people with structural dissociation of the personality to become more integrated. In turn this seems to help them to become more stable and reduces risky behaviour.
I am also an experienced CFT supervisor and would welcome enquiries for supervision.

I have been supervised by Paul Gilbert since 2007 and shortly after I undertook my Introductory and Advanced CFT training. Around this time Paul and I ran a group together on one of our inpatient wards in Derby. In 2012 I became a Clinical Supervisor and Associate Lecturer on the Pg. Cert in CFT at the University of Derby. For many years I have provided supervision for my colleagues at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. I have also become a trainer for the Compassionate Mind Foundation.
